Falls Township will be installing new playground equipment at one of the community’s parks.
The township Board of Supervisors voted on Monday evening to approved the purchase of a new playground unit for kids ages 2 to 12 at Mill Creek Manor Park near the Village of Pennbrook.

The township will be paying $59,850 for the playground unit that features sliding boards and climbing apparatus. In a statement, the township said they received 40 percent discount through vendor Recreation Resource USA.
The new playground equipment comes with a 15-year warrant for replacement of broken equipment, Parks and Recreation Director Brian Andrews said, adding that is a plus because finding replacement parts of playgrounds as they age is difficult.
The existing playground equipment at Mill Creek Manor Park was removed recently after it was deemed unsafe.

Andrews said the goal is to have the new playground equipment in place next year.
“I think it’s a nice unit,” Andrews said. “It will fit in great there.”

The township public works crews will be adding a walkway leading up to the playground that is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
