Captain Pete Feeney said a man was driving to Stateman’s Health and Rehabilitation on Trenton Road in the Levittown section of the township Wednesday evening to bring his girlfriend, an employee at the facility, dinner. He noted a car on Woodbourne Road and Trenton Road followed him into the parking lot.

When the man exited his vehicle, the trailing car stopped behind his parked car and a male suspect exited the back seat with a gun. The suspect fired several shots at the man bringing dinner. The victim fled into the care center, Feeney said.

“Shell casings were recovered from the scene and the vehicle parked next to the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot was hit. No one was struck by the shots,” the captain said.

The investigation has not yet determined whether the shooting was related to road rage or had some other motivation, the police commander told LevittownNow.com

Police were sifting through conflicting accounts and descriptions, Feeney said.

The vehicle that the shooter arrived in and fled in was a blue small SUV or four-door hatchback.

Late Wednesday night, police in Bristol Township responded to a shots fired call. Feeney said there were no suspects, no witnesses, and no victims at the scene, but officers did locate a car similar to the one from the Middletown Township incident and a gun was visible inside the vehicle, Feeney said.

No one was found around the car.

“That vehicle was towed but it has not yet been determined if the gun seen in the car is the same caliber as the shell casings found at the scene on Trenton Road,” Feeney said.
