A Middletown Township police SUV that was destroyed when a tree fell on it during Tropical Storm Isaias will be replaced.
The early August tropical storm that caused damage throughout the area toppled a tree onto a parked 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe patrol vehicle. The vehicle was unoccupied and it was deemed totaled, officials said.

The insurance company will give the township enough money to almost entirely pay to replace the destroyed vehicle with a 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility.
The supervisors last week voted to approve the purchase of the replacement vehicle.
The supervisors also approved the purchase of a 2020 T-14T deck over tilt Towmaster Trailer for $16,467. The trailer is needed to replace one from 2004 that is falling apart and is needed to transport the public works department’s skidsteer loader.
