A man was freed from his wrecked pickup truck and taken to the hospital following an early Friday crash.
The single-vehicle crash happened on Emilie Road near Woerner Avenue in Bristol Township’s Levittown section when the pickup truck struck a utility pole outside the former 7-Eleven and bounced and crossed the shopping center parking lot before striking Chong’s Cleaners and Denise’s Hair Salon in Bailey’s Plaza around 2:50 a.m., Levittown Fire Company No. 2 Deputy Chief Ryan Flanagan said.

The man behind the wheel of the pickup truck was pinned and firefighters had to remove the vehicle’s roof to free him, Flanagan said.
The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad rushed the man to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township.
Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said he examined at the damage to the shopping center and advised the business owners what needed to be done to make the structure was safe before they could reopen.

The Edgely and Fairless Hills fire companies assisted Levittown Fire Company No. 2 crews at the scene.
