Falls Twp. Fire Marshal Will Take On Larger Role

Falls Township’s longtime fire marshal will see his duties grow as he becomes assistant township manager and director of emergency services.

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito will start his new job in August. He will continue to lead the fire marshal’s office and will earn $130,000. 

“As Director of Emergency Services/Assistant Manager, Dippolito will assist Township Manager Matt Takita on an as-needed basis, according to Supervisor Chairman Jeff Dence. Prior to transitioning to township manager in June, Takita had served as assistant township manager, along with his position as director of building, planning and code enforcement,” a statement from the township said. 

Dippolito was hired as a fire inspector in 2002. In August 2008, he became the fire marshal and emergency management director. 

“The Supervisors are excited to expand Rich’s duties,” Supervisor Chairman Jeff Dence said. “Since he began his career with Falls almost 20 years ago, Rich has and continues to be an asset to our township and community.”

Former Assistant Township Manager Matthew Takita was appointed township manager in June. He will also oversee the building, planning, and code enforcement department.

Dippolito’s expanded role will be “capitalizing on efficiencies and cost savings created by recently combining the position of township manager and code enforcement director,” according to the township.

Dippolito, a volunteer firefighter at the Fairless Hills Fire Company since 1978, said he has had a positive experience working with Takita and looks forward stepping up to assist.
