The number of new COVID-19 case in Bucks County has increased.
The county has averaged 28 new cases reported per day between Tuesday and Thursday night. The average is the highest this month, which has previously seen average daily county in the low to mid 20s.

In a statement, the county pointed out that hospitalizations remain at the lowest levels since March and only one death connected to coronavirus has been reported in July.
The county received data for 124 new COVID-19 cases, but 40 of them were delayed reports where the infections were longer considered active. Of the 124 new cases, 31 people reported catching the virus out of state, 28 were through household contacts, 20 were from community spread, seven through work interactions, six were residents or workers at long-term care facilities, five were healthcare staffers, and 27 were unable to be immediately reached by contact tracers.
Dr. David Damsker, the county health director, acknowledged that cases have slightly risen in Bucks County since the area moved to the “green” phase late last month, but he has not seen signs of a coming wave of new cases. However, he advises people to take wear a mask, sanitize, and social distance.

On Wednesday, the state increased some restrictions relating to some businesses and gatherings due to a rise in cases in parts of Pennsylvania.
As of Thursday night, 26 Bucks Coutians were in local hospitals with COVID-19 and four were on ventilators in critical condition.

Since the pandemic began, 5,888 residents test have positive, 511 have died, and 4,281 have recovered.
