New Center To Aid Senior Citizens, Caregivers

A new center to help older adults age in place has been opened by St. Mary Medical Center.

The medical center worked withย Catholic Housing and Community Services to open theย Family Caregiver Center. The center was created to createย aging-in-place resources and services for older locals, including helping with their medical, social, legal, financial, home safety, and other personal needs.ย

Seniors and their families can use the center to get information to help older adults to with “information to help seniors remain in their community and live with dignity, health independence and the highest quality of life,” according to a statement.ย 

โ€œWe are thrilled to open the Family Caregiver Center and provide needed support to seniors as they age and to their loved ones as they transition to caregiver roles,โ€ said Lisa Kelly, St. Mary Medical Center’s director of community health and well-being and volunteer services. โ€œWe aim to reduce the stress of managing multiple priorities to ensure older adults in our community receive the compassionate, whole-person care they deserve.โ€

The center is now open to provide services via phone for seniors and their caregivers.

At a future date that has yet to be determined, theย Family Caregiver Center in the Pine Watson Shopping Center in Langhorne Borough will open.ย
