Pennsbury’s Graduating Seniors Recognized

Wednesday would have been Pennsbury High School’s commencement ceremony at Falcon Field.

But COVID-19 altered those plans.

Although the school district aims to host an in-person graduation ceremony at Falcon Field sometime in late July, a special set of events took place Wednesday to honor graduating seniors. The staff and administrators at the high school worked on the events with financial support from the PTO and student council.

Graduation gift bags with special messaging and some surprises were hand-delivered to every graduating student’s home Wednesday morning.

Senior Surprise teacher leaders (l-r), Courtney De La Pena, Doug Campbell, and Liz Titano. The teachers organized the bags shown to be delivered to the seniors’ homes on the morning of what would have been the date of Pennsbury’s graduation ceremony.

By evening, the district channel aired a special broadcast to recognize seniors and mark the graduation date.

“Your commitment to complete your studies was matched by your enthusiasm to move forward beyond your senior year. Yours is the first class of Pennsbury Falcons that was tested in such a dramatic way. But you did it,” Reggie Meadows, co-principal at Pennsbury High School, said during the broadcast.
