Starting late last month, Bristol Borough’s street sweeper began operating after a break during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order.

The street sweeper will be out and about, but in a break with the usual, residents won’t have to move their cars for the time being or be ticketed, Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe.

The council president said there will be no tickets for those who remain parked on their street during sweeping and the borough will continue that for some time. The council understands that even after things reopen many people will continue working from home.

“It was really starting to look bad, so we’re starting to run the street sweepers,” DiGuiseppe said.

The council president said people don’t have to move their car, but he hoped they could at least sweep up on their portion of the block.
