The Falls Township Board of Supervisors pushed forward the community’s road repair and repaving program on Monday evening.
The Supervisors unanimously voted to advertise the 2020 road improvement plan, which will improve or fully reconstruct a dozen township roads.

The township plans to fully reconstruct Simons Drive between Lions Drive and Bernard Drive; Gilbert Drive between Elbow Lane and Bernard Drive; Decou Drive between Walnut Lane and West Trenton Avenue; and Burgess Avenue from dead end to North Lafayette Avenue. Crews will mill and perform overlay improvements on Elbow Lane from Stony Hill Road and the Falls Township boundary; Walnut Lane from the dead end to North Pennsylvania Avenue; and North Lafayette Avenue from North Pennsylvania Avenue to West Trenton Avenue.
The township will award a contract for the work at an upcoming meeting.
Also at Monday’s meeting, which took place virtually, the Supervisors agreed to hire Township Engineer Jones Engineering Associates for the 2020 and 2021 road programs. The cost for those services for 2020 and 2021 will be $1.2 million.

The firm will provide oversight for the road program and attend weekly progress meetings, officials said.
