No Postal Workers In Bucks County Diagnosed With COVID-19, Officials Say

A disruption in mail service in Levittown on Thursday caused a bevy of rumors.

Several residents in Bristol Township and Middletown said their mail did not arrived on Thursday. Others said their mail arrived but they had heard rumors a carrier was diagnosed with COVID-19, causing concern about opening letters and packages.

U.S. Postal Service spokesperson Raymond Daiutolo told LevittownNow.com there were no known cases of COVID-19 at the Post Office that sits on New Falls Road.

Bucks County Health Department Director Dr. David Damsker also confirmed there were no known cases of COVID-19 among the ranks of postal workers in the county as of Friday morning.

Normal operations were underway Friday at the Levittown Post Office, Daiutolo said.

It was not immediately confirmed what caused the Thursday disruption.

The U.S. Surgeon General has no evidence that COVID-19 is being spread through the mail, a statement on the Postal Service website reads.
