Wreck Causes Power Problems

A Friday afternoon crash brought down a utility pole and power transformer.

The crash happened on Wood Lane near Shasta Road around 3:42 p.m. Firefighters and medics were called to the scene.

The crash knocked out power to more than 560 customers, according to PECO. The customers impacted were in Middletown and Langhorne Borough.

Police said generators were being set up to keep traffic signals that were impacted working.

Fire Marshal Jim McGuire said the power outage caused numerous calls for smoke conditions in residences. However, there was no serious damage or fires reported.
