A Falls Township man has been accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and not letting her leave his home.
Daniel Clark Nyari, 37, was charged via summons Monday with false imprisonment, simple assault, and harassment.

Falls Township police allege in court papers that Nyari held his ex-girlfriend and mother of his two children inside his home in the 800 block of Glenmar Road in the Fairless Hills section last Wednesday starting at around 6:40 p.m.
The woman went to Nyari’s residence for a custody exchange. As soon as he opened the door, he grabbed the woman and pulled her into the home, locking the door behind her. Nyari placed his hand over her mouth to keep her quiet, police said.
Nyari is accused of questioning the woman about her new boyfriend and demanding to know where he lived.

When the woman didn’t listen to Nyari’s demands, he smacked her across the face. He also blocked her as she tried to go toward the door, police said.
The woman said Nyari called her degrading names and threatened to hurt her. She repeatedly screamed at him and told him she wanted to leave, police said.

During the incident, Nyari had possession of the woman’s cell phone and car keys, police said.
After about two hours, Nyari returned the woman’s phone and keys and let her leave, police said.
The woman reportedly suffered swelling and redness to her face. She also had bruising on her left and right arms, investigators said.
