A man is accused of damaging a police holding cell after his arrest earlier this week.

Middletown police were dispatched to the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue in the Langhorne section of the township around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Christmas Eve, for a man attempting to break into a home by breaking down the door, according to court papers.

Bucks County dispatchers advised responding officers that the man attempting to get in the home was 36-year-old David Jenner, of Middletown, and had a protection from abuse order out against him by the homeowner, police said.

An officer pulled up to find Jenner on the front porch.

The officer attempted to take Jenner into custody and he began pulling away and flailing his arms, police said, adding they were able to eventually get Jenner in handcuffs.

An officer transported Jenner to the police station.

At the station, Jenner was in one of the holding cells when he broke a speaker off the wall and smashed it against the floor. He then picked up the pointed pieces of the speaker and concealed them, police said.

Officers opened the cell door and Jenner refused to show his hands. At that point, an officer deployed his Taser and Jenner was restrained, police said.

Jenner was unable to be processed at the station due to his behavior, police said.

Jenner was arraigned before on-call District Judge Michael Gallagher on charges to institutional vandalism, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and attempted burglary. He was remanded to the county lockup on 10 percent of $75,000.
