Bristol Twp. Man Arrested During Black Friday Shoplifting, Cops Say

Black Friday shoplifting ended badly for a Bristol Township man, according to police across the river.

John A. Maier II, 40, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, was arrested by police in Cinnaminson, New Jersey, after they were called to the Walmart in that community at 5:42 p.m. Friday after a shoplifting complaint, according to a press release.

Police said they took Maier into custody without incident and found illicit drugs, prescription medication, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded Smith and Wesson handgun on him.

Maier was charged by New Jersey authorities with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and shoplifting. He was remanded to the Burlington County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
