A contractor has been charged with not finishing a job in Bristol Township.
Ryan Dennis Waid, 40, of Philadelphia, was charged with receiving advance payment for services and failure to perform, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property.

In August, Bristol Township police took a report from a 66-year-old township resident that he entered into a contract with Waid in July. The work was to jackhammer his kitchen floor to fix a drainpipe for $2,800.
The resident paid Waid a $1,400 deposit on the work. The check was made out to a woman, as Waid had instructed, police said.
Waid is accused of not completing the work, according to court papers.

Investigators checked and the woman cashed the check at the Wells Fargo branch in Levittown, police said.
On September 17, a detective called the business number and the woman who the check was made out to said Waid was her ex-boyfriend and she did not know his whereabouts, police said.

The resident said he was referred to Waid by a public adjuster, who said Waid told her that he and his wife were in a car crash, police said.
Waid was arraigned earlier this month by an on-call district judge and sent to county lockup on 10 percent of $400,000.
