Bucks County broke its collection record on National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day this past Saturday.
Bucks County officials said at the 52 take-back locations around the area brought in 11,007 pounds of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications. They bring the county’s total since 2010 to 137,337 pounds, more than in any other county in the state.

“I am so pleased, and not at all surprised, by our new, record-setting total,” said Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub. “Keep up the great work, Bucks County!”

The collected medications will be incinerated under the review of law enforcement.
The county currently is home to 41 permanent drop-off sites located throughout the county. Locations can be found online.
