Levittown-area residents won’t have to travel far to get their bloomin’ onion fix.

Starting in mid-November, Outback Steakhouse will be opening their new  6,620-square-feet, 248-seat eatery at the site of the demolished Old Country Buffet on Commerce Boulevard.

Company officials said the restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on Monday, November 18 with a fundraiser for nonprofit Operation Homefront, which supports military families. The event will donate sales from meals served from open to close – up to $5,000 – to the organization.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held the next morning.

“We’re excited to bring our signature Aussie menu to the Oxford Valley community, serving up generous portions at moderate prices, in a casual, warm and welcoming atmosphere,” said Speros Tsoflias, proprietor of the new Outback Steakhouse. “We look forward to hosting our new friends and neighbors as well as the 136 new Outbackers that will join our new restaurant team.”

Demolition on the former Old Country Buffet began late last year and the Outback Steakhouse was constructed with work nearly complete. Falls Township officials said earlier this month that the location would be completed by November.

Outback Steakhouse currently operates its nearest locations in Hamilton, New Jersey, Bensalem, and Warrington.
