A 41-year-old Falls Township woman was badly burned after a Monday evening apartment fire.
Firefighter, police, and medics were called to the Aspen Falls Apartments on Trenton Road in Falls Township just after 5 p.m. for a report of a blaze. They arrived to find a group of complex residents outside an apartment building and a fire-damaged apartment inside..

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said the woman who lived in the apartment was outside with burns on her arms, face, and torso. She was rushed by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown and then transported to Temple University Hospital’s burn center in Philadelphia by helicopter.
One of the woman’s Apsen Falls Apartment complex neighbors reported hearing her moaning in pain shortly before emergency crews arrived and checked on what was happening. After spotting her apartment on fire, the neighbor rushed in with a fire extinguisher and put down the flames, Dippolito said.
Police, who are investigating the blaze with the fire marshal’s office, said that three smoke detectors in the apartment had been removed from their mounts and could not be located.
