Winik has served with the police department since May 2006 and has worked as a field training officer, accident reconstructionist, firearms instructor, community response unit officer, and a member of the SWAT team.

Leacok joined the force in September 2007 and he has served as a field training officer, on the crisis intervention team, and as a drug recognition expert.

Both men serve on the Bucks County Homicide by Vehicle Task Force.

The two men will each make $109,674 per year.

Winik will serve in the administrative division supervising professional standards and accreditation and training management.

Leacock will share duties with shift commander Sgt. Tom Gaffney on patrol.

Leacock’s promotion will fill a role left vacant recently when Sgt. Kevin Burns retired to work as security director for the Neshaminy School District, and Winik’s role is new and will serve what the department calls an “increasingly important area.”

The police department still has two open lieutenant positions from when Lt. John Godzieba retired in 2017 for the chief job in Langhorne Borough and Lt. Terry Hughes who retired in spring. Council President Craig Bowen said the township will look to fill those spots in the coming months.
