A Bristol Township police officer has left the force and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office is investigating.
The veteran officer, who LevittownNow.com is not naming at this time as no charges have been filed, resigned last week after an internal investigation and before a potential disciplinary hearing.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the officer’s resignation said the internal investigation stemmed from an off-duty 2016 crash in Fairless Hills several years ago. The incident involved a single vehicle and, at the time, it was not immediately clear who was operating the vehicle or whether they were in a condition to do so.
Details on the crash and questions surrounding the officer’s involvement were recently brought to light and led to the recent probe.
James O’Malley, spokesperson for the district attorney’s office, said a matter involving a Bristol Township police officer has been referred to the office. He further added that it was under investigation as of this week but offered no further details.
