A scam call is targeting members of the Our Lady of Grace Parish community.
According to social media post by the Penndel catholic church, several people this week have received text messages purporting to be from Monsignor Joseph G. Prior and asking for donations of money and gift cards.

“The text appears to come from Monsignor’s cell phone, but it is not his number. We believe someone has obtained cell phone numbers of various organization heads and is trying to solicit false donations,” the parish posted.
Prior is on vacation this week and has no knowledge of the texts.
Penndel Chief of Police Sean Perry said his department has received two reports from people who received the text messages but did not fall victim.

“We believe that the number being used is an anonymous internet phone number or cloned number,” Perry said.
