Demand for a free art class for military veterans has led to a second course being offered.

Artist Rose Marie Strippoli’s Water Color Techniques will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon for six Fridays from September 20 through October 25 at Bucks County Community College’s Gene and Marlene Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks on Veterans Highway in Bristol Township.

The free class for veterans that focuses on watercolor art began is spring and was offered again for Tuesdays this fall. The Tuesday class for fall quickly filled up and a second was offered.

“Art is such a great way to express oneself, so we thought it would be a great opportunity for our veterans to take advantage of this creative learning experience for free,” said James Sell, executive director of the campus. “It’s also one other way to recognize and appreciate their service to our country.”

Action Manufacturing Company of Bristol Township, Bucks County Community College Foundation, and the Grundy Foundation are supporting the program. Artists are donating their time to teach the classes.

Artists will receive art supplies with the class.

Space is limited and veterans do not need to be Bucks County residents. Veterans with documentation can sign up for the class by contacting Christine Tompkins at 267-685-4802 or Christine.Thompkins@bucks.edu.
