A 31-year-old Bristol Township man has been accused of kidnapping a child.

The woman additionally told police that Doughty entered her car and began striking her. She reportedly stated she left the vehicle to try to escape the assault and Doughty climbed in the driver’s seat and drove off.

The woman stated her son, who is not Doughty’s biological child, remained in the back seat, police said.

“[The woman] advised she was afraid for her child’s safety due to text messages and threats from the defendant regarding her child,” police wrote in court papers.

Doughty allegedly refused to return to the apartment complex and return the boy, whose age was not released.

The child was dropped off by an unknown woman at a relative’s home in Philadelphia, police said.

The woman suffered an abrasion behind her right ear during the assault, police said.
