A popular Bristol Township deli was damaged when a Jeep crashed through it Thursday afternoon.
Employees said the crash happened at the Durham Deli in the 2400 block of Durham Road around 4:15 p.m.

Bristol Township authorities said there were no serious injuries.

George Fox, who owns the deli, said that the Jeep came through the front when there were customers and staff in the building. Thankfully, he added, the cashier who would have been standing at the register where the vehicle came in was not there.
By 7 p.m., Fox was managing the restoration of the building, which appeared to avoid major structural damage, as a contractor worked to fix the damage that included a destroyed brick wall below a large area with windows.

The deli will be closed on Friday, but still plans to fill orders that were already made.

Fox said the Bucks County Health Department and township building officers will need to clear the building in the morning, Fox said.

“We should be opened by Saturday,” Fox said.
