A Levittown man has been accused of raping an unconscious woman in spring.

A woman spoke with police from Jefferson Bucks Hospital on May 25. She told them she suspected she was sexually assaulted by a man she knew the night before.

According to court papers, the woman said she went to a local hibachi place with Robert Collins, 55, of Middletown’s Levittown section. During the meal, he excused himself and went to the bathroom, returning to ask to have a sip of her iced tea. She stated that he sipped her drink. When she went to drink it, she thought it tasted strange and watered down, causing her not to finish it.

The woman told police she went back to Collins’ home and began to feel tired. She fell asleep in the living room and remembered looking at the clock around 10:23 p.m.

Around 11:30 p.m., she woke up in Collins’ bedroom and stated her underwear were around her ankles. She could feel Collins lying next to her and felt “skin on skin” contact. She quickly got dressed and noticed her underwear were wet. She then fled the house, she told police.

The woman went to Jefferson Bucks Hospital for a sexual assault exam, which found redness and a small cut in her genital area. Bodily fluid samples returned a number of drugs legally prescribed to the woman. In addition, non-prescribed antihypertensive agent clonidine, which is also considered a knock-out drug, was found in her system, according to court papers.

Collins was arraigned by District Judge John Kelly this week on charges of rape of an unconscious person, rape of a substantially impaired person, sexual assault, indecent assault without consent, indecent assault of a person who is unconscious, indecent assault of a person who is substantially impaired. He was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $100,000.
