The museum formed in the Grundy family’s Victorian home along the Delaware River off Radcliffe Street in Bristol Borough after Sen. Joseph Grundy passed away in 1961. In his will, Grundy requested the Grundy Foundation be formed with his remaining assets.
The museum and adjacent memorial library is named after his only sister Margaret Ridgway Grundy.
