A resident of Falls Township’s Morrisville section was charged Tuesday by New Jersey authorities after allegations that she smuggled drugs to an inmate.
Camey Springer, 50, worked as an assistant director for the Gateway Foundation that was contracted to provide substance abuse treatment to inmates at the Mid-State Correctional Facility in Wrightstown, New Jersey. Investigators linked her to drugs that were supplied to an inmate, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said in a press release.

Authorities began their investigation after an inmate in the New Jersey facility was found to be in possession of crushed up pills and synthetic marijuana. It was further revealed that the inmate allegedly received Subutex and Suboxone.
Prosecutors said Springer supplied drugs on various dates in 2018 and 2019 in person and through the mail.
Mid-State Correctional Facility, a designated treatment center for New Jersey inmates, is operated by the New Jersey Department of Corrections.

Springer was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, and providing an inmate with contraband.
