“The school’s Board of Trustees and the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart President and Leadership Council have just reached this decision, based on a comprehensive evaluation of declining enrollment trends and related financial data and information. This, coupled with enrollment even lower than expected for fall 2019 make it evident that our beloved school is no longer financially viable. Though difficult to accept, this decision is final,” said the letter fromย Board of Trustees Chairperson Jean Kuhn and Presidentย Sister Denise Roche.

“This decision is made with full recognition of the enormous efforts, selfless service and generous financial support from the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, school administration, faculty and staff, families and other charitable individual donors, and members of the Board of Trustees,” it continued.

The school’s leaders said they wished there was another way to continue, but noted there is not.

“This is a very painful time for anyone associated with our cherished Grey Nun Academy. We ask for your patience and your prayers in this difficult time,” the letter said.
