Before Harry S. Truman High School’s senior prom on Thursday, a group of local businesses came together to provide haircuts, hair styling, and makeovers to students at no cost.
In the hours leading up to the big event at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, more than 50 students were able to take advantage of the generosity provided by the local businesses, teacher Victoria Tangradi said.

A DJ played music as the professionals went to work styling students for their prom.
Antoine Lovelace, the owner of Lace’d Unisex Hair Salon in Langhorne and Penndel, said he heard of the high school’s prom fair earlier this year and decided more could be done. From there, he worked with other local businesses to offer the styling services for students and lunch before their big prom.
“I thought, we got to go big or go home,” Lovelace said of planning for the event.

Beauty consultants from a number of Bucks County Walgreens stores came together to help girls prepare for prom, said Walgreens beauty consultant Jeannine Roach.
In addition to Lace’d Unisex Hair Salon and Walgreens, Flawless Cuts by Alexander, Time After Time, Boss Beauty Supply, Samurai Beauty, Freshworks Levittown, Dunkin Donuts, Little Caesars Levittown, Amato’s Pizza Fairless Hills, Champs Pizza Bensalem, Handsome Cuts by Webstar, Miguel’s Riverside Barbershop and Headstrong Salon, Heather Weiser Makeup Artistry, Tai Elite Beauty, and SkinTelligent by April all donated their services or goods for the event.
