The bid, which was awarded to WDB Lawn and Garden, was less than half of that of the other bidder, totaling $69,736 for all three years.

In other cost-saving measures, officials have once again purchased supplies for Pinewood Pool through the Bucks/Mont Aquatic Consortium.

Parks and Recreation Director Brian Andrews said the township will save $1.25 per 50-pound bag of soda ash this year with the cost reduction to $15.50 per bag. Chlorine costs rose slightly from $1.18 per gallon last year to $1.47 this year and hydrochloric acid increased by 50 cents per five-gallon container.

Still, Andrews noted that purchasing chemicals and supplies through the consortium has “saved the township a lot of money.”
