A Tuesday evening kitchen fire left an apartment uninhabitable.

The fire inside the unit at the Orangewood Park Apartments on Elizabeth Lane in Bristol Township’s Levittown section was contained to the kitchen, causing damage to the stove top and cabinets. Smoke damage was throughout the unit, and there was water damage to the office on the floor below, Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said.

The fire was blamed on overheated oil, the fire marshal said.

Firefighters were called to the apartment complex for the blaze around 6:45 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Crews from the Fairless Hills, Edgely, Levittown No. 1, Levittown No.2, Third District, and William Penn fire companies responded. The Bristol Township Fire Marshal’s Office was also on the scene.

The apartment fire happened just hours after a home that sits about 1,000 feet away as the crow flies suffered a damaging blaze on Verdant Road.
