Cold temperatures and power outages have led to Bristol Township officials opening a shelter.
Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito, who also is the township’s emergency management official, said a warming shelter at the Bristol Township Senior Center at the municipal complex at 2501 Bath Road opened Monday afternoon and will remain open until at least 10 p.m.

“Any resident wishing to remain in the shelter overnight, is asked to arrive before 10 p.m. otherwise the shelter will be closed at that time,” he said.
As of 3:45 p.m., several hundred customers remained without electric service in the Levittown area.
Temperatures were predicted to drop to about 21 degrees overnight Monday into Tuesday.
