Incumbent Republican State Rep. Frank Farry will keep his seat, holding back Democrat Lauren Lareau in the race for the 142nd Legislative District.
Farry earned 56.1 percent of the votes and Lareau 43.9 percent.

Farry, a Langhorne native and volunteer fire chief, has held the seat for nearly 10 years and said in an interview that he is not afraid to work with Democrats and Republicans in Harrisburg.
Tutoring service owner Lareau, a resident of Middletown’s Langhorne section, worked to make a name for herself in a district where Farry often receives bipartisan support.
Farry is known in political circles to be a prolific door knocker and said he hit more than 12,000 in the district over the course of the race. Lareau did not hit the same number of doors that Farry did, but still managed to knock on 4,000 residences, Lareau said.
