Falls Township will host a meeting Monday evening to discuss proposed changes to the sewer management plan.
The meeting will take place Monday at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building on Lincoln Highway in Fairless Hills.

“The informal meeting is meant to serve as a question and answer forum for residents who may have questions or concerns about proposed updates to the township’s ordinance regarding sewer systems. The Supervisors voted unanimously to introduce and advertise the amended ordinance, which will be considered for approval at a future meeting,” the township said in a press release.
Members of the Board of Supervisors and Township of Falls Authority will attend the meeting, Supervisors Chairman Bob Harvie said.
A major change in the proposed ordinance would move away from the previous requirement that a sewage enforcement officer had to conduct inspections of on-lot sewage systems. Under the change, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection would allow the Township of Falls Authority to set up a list of approved service providers that residents could hire for inspections, Falls Township solicitor Lauren Gallagher said.

Officials explained that the proposed changes mean the Township of Falls Authority would handle paperwork related to inspections by contractors hired by residents instead of the authority hiring staff to carry out the inspections.
