Investigation Into Death Of Boy ‘Active & Ongoing’

The investigation into the death of a 2-year-old boy found late Saturday night in Tullytown continued Monday.

An autopsy was conducted on Mazikeen Clarey. Toxicology and forensic tests will be sent out for results.

Tullytown Chief of Police Daniel Doyle said the probe remains an “active and ongoing criminal investigation.” He declined further comment.

Mazikeen was found deceased lying on a bed in a home in the 500 block of Lovett Avenue around 10:35 p.m. Saturday. The boy, according to a Sunday statement from investigators, had no obvious signs of trauma.

Jennifer Clarey, 42, has been identified as the boy’s mother. She was hospitalized following his death with apparent self-inflicted injuries, authorities said.

No criminal charges have been filed, but authorities have said there is no threat to the community.
