UPDATE: Police Release Description Of Car That Fatally Injured Man & Fled
A man walking in the area of a marked pedestrian crossing along New Falls Road in Falls Township’s Levittown section was killed Tuesday night, and police were searching for the striking vehicle and driver.
A Falls Township police official confirmed the adult man was pronounced dead at the hospital after being struck by a vehicle on New Falls Road outside Jo-Jo’s Ice Cream and Water Ice. The striking vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on New Falls Road.

According to dispatch records, firefighters, police, and medics were called to the pedestrian and vehicle collision around 9:10 p.m.
A post on Jo-Jo’s Ice Cream and Water Ice’s Facebook page said the victim was an older man with a cane.
“It does not look good at all,” the post read. “OMG please pray.”

Investigators obtained surveillance video and planned to review it for more details on the striking vehicle.
Police were seen looking at the man’s clothes and shoes that were left behind in the roadway. A foot or two away, a cane laid in the street.

Jo-Jo’s Ice Cream and Water Ice often holds community fundraisers during the summer outside the shop Tuesday evenings. However, a Facebook post from the business said the man was not part of the animal rescue fundraiser held Tuesday.
New Falls Road was closed between the Thornridge neighborhood and Hood Boulevard as of 11 p.m. Tuesday.
