Bristol Township has replaced their longtime community development director.
In a press release this week, the township announced they hired Heather Mahaley to replace Tom McDermott, who retired recently after years with Bristol Township. Mahaley started with the township on July 23 and will earn $70,000 a year.

Mahaley will oversee the Bristol Township Office of Community Development, which applies for and oversees community development funds.
“The township is extremely fortunate to attract someone with Heather’s qualifications,” Bristol Township Manager Bill McCauley said in a statement.
Mahaley worked recently as the project administrator overseeing the community development block grant program for Bucks County. She previously has worked as in affordable housing and planning services for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

The new community development director has a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary and a master’s in city and regional planning from Rutgers University.
“During the recruitment process it was pretty obvious that Heather checked all of the boxes and then some,” McCauley added.
