A developer has proposed converting the closed St. Ann’s convent and school into a condominium complex.
Bristol Borough’s Zoning Hearing Board will hold a meeting on the plan by Northampton-based BH Holdings Ltd. Wednesday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Borough Hall.

The plans currently involve the developer converting the two buildings on the roughly .7-acre property bordered by Jefferson Avenue and Logan Street into residential units. Borough Zoning Officer Sally Bellaspica said the plans call for 16 units in the three-story larger school building and six in the two-story convent.
The plans also include a proposed parking garage off Jefferson Avenue in place a smaller section of the school building.

The St. Ann School closed in June 2009 after 89 years in operation. At the time, financial difficulties and low enrollment were cited as reasons for the closing.

The convent has been empty since 2014 when the parish closed and the sisters of The Trinitarians left Bristol.
In 2015, there was talk of a potential purchase by a Christian group but those talks fell through.

In summer 2017, BH Holdings Ltd. bought the property for $350,000, according to county property records.
