One of the Levittown-area smallest graduations took place inside the auditorium at Pennsbury High School’s East Campus Tuesday evening.

More than 100 friends and family members gathered inside the Falls Township high school to see the 25-member Center for Student Learning Charter School class of 2018 graduate.

The charter school that is situated near Route 13 in Tullytown opened in 2002 and offers classes for students who perform better in an alternative learning environment.

The close knit group of students received their diplomas and handed out roses to those who helped them get to graduation.

“You’ve taken a different path – each of you – but you’re sitting here tonight,” Dean of Students Peter Hackney said.

Senior Ronald Bentivogli said he went to Harry S. Truman High School before leaving in 2017. However, joining the Center for Student Learning Charter School community changed his outlook and eventually helped him graduate high school.

“No matter what road we take,” student speaker Joseph Alvarez-Santos told his peers, “we need to realize stopping is not an option.”

For senior Michael Fisher, the Center for Student Learning Charter School staff and his peers helped him keep his eye on his goal of graduating and joining the military. On Sunday, he boards a plane to head to Fort Benning in Georgia for U.S. Army basic training.

The class recognized Falls Township police Officer John Yeager for his service to them.
