Two Levittown-area senior centers have had their hours extended due to the Heat Advisory issued for the region Monday and Tuesday.

The Bristol Borough Area Active Adult Center at 301 Wood Street and the Bristol Township Senior Center at 2501 Bath Road will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

The Bucks County Area Agency on Aging warned seniors that extreme heat can cause health issues and asked everyone to take precautions.

“The best approach during a heat wave is to remain indoors with an air-conditioner or in a ventilated room with a fan. Unless restricted, drink plenty of water and/or non-alcoholic beverages to prevent dehydration. Minimize time spent outdoors and stay out of the sun whenever possible,” officials said in a press release.
