Catie Turner is prepared to show America what she has on “American Idol” Sunday night.
Speaking from Los Angeles while preparing for this week’s live episode, 18-year-old Neshaminy High School senior Turner said she has spent the past week preparing for the upcoming Prince-theme episode.

While she couldn’t reveal what song she was going to sing, she hinted that her performance Sunday may lead to a “manic Monday.” The 1986 hit “Manic Monday” was performed by The Bangles but penned by Prince under a pseudonym.
In the week leading up to her national performance, Turner said she’s been working with the show’s vocal coaches, rehearsing, and practicing her moves to make her performance “the best two minutes it can be.”
“This is my chance to show America,” she said.

Tuner explained that theme weeks like last week’s Disney one and this week’s Prince episode box performers in a bit but also allow them to be very creative with their performances.
As the competition has moved from dozens of contestants to just seven, Turner has become very close with her castmates.

“It’s been a lot more stressful as we’re getting down to the final contestants, but being on the show has been a warmer environment than I expected,” Turner said. “I thought people were going to be catty and harsh, and it’s the opposite.
“This is like the best singing camp there is,” she said with a laugh.
During her experience over the past couple weeks, Turner said she’s crossed so many things of her to-do list, including checking out Walt Disney’s apartment.

Hearing from family and friends in Lower Bucks County, Turner thanked everyone for the support they’ve shown her and said she needs all the votes she can get.

“I heard there are signs with my face on them,” she said with a laugh.
In addition to spending hours every day preparing for the show, Turner has been working to compete her remaining classwork for Neshaminy High School.

Turner has mentioned that her time on “American Idol” has allowed her to grow as a performer and person.
“You can change a lot in three months,” she said.

To her “haters,” Turner had a simple message: “Mind your own beeswax.”
