In honor of Earth Day, members of the public can take part in an event at Croydon Woods in Bristol Township.
The event set for Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. will include guided tours of the Croydon Woods nature preserve, local environmental organizations, and educational tips on how everyone can make a difference for the environment.

According to a release from the Heritage Conservancy, the event will focus on educating community members about the preserve and local impacts on the Delaware River and its watershed.
The event will feature guided hikes, enviroscope demonstrations and activities for kids.
“Nearly twenty partner organizations, including Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards, Silver Lake Nature Center, GOAL, East Coast Greenway Alliance, Sierra Club of Bucks County, Clean Air Council/GoPhillyGo, Dow, NJ Conservation Foundation, Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association, Delaware Riverkeepers Network, Sustainable Energy Fund, Alliance for Watershed Education, and the PA Game Commission will set up tables to provide games, giveaways, and children’s activities as well,” Heritage Conservancy organizers said.

The Heritage Conservancy hopes that the event will allow the community to have fun while educating them about environmental and community issues and solutions.
The nature preserve is an 80-acre forested property in Bristol Township. It is one of the last wooded wetlands in the region.

“It provides publically accessible green space in a more developed area of Bucks County. By connecting the community with this important natural resource, the Conservancy hopes to promote environmental activism,” according to the Heritage Conservancy.
