Water from the Delaware River spilled its banks Monday afternoon in Bristol Borough.

The swollen river flowed in to the Mill Street Parking Lot and the surrounding area as high tide hit the waterway. The tide and strong winds pushed water through the parking lot, stranding a few cars.

Police and public works crews blocked the entrances to the parking lot as the water moved in during the afternoon hours.

By early evening, the water had begun to recede from the parking lot.
