After a smashing duet with singer-songwriter Andy Grammer, Middletown’s Catie Turner moved forward on “American Idol” Monday night.

The Neshaminy High School senior performed with Grammer on his 2015 hit “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah).”
Turner’s lively performance won acclaim from the judges who moved her to Top 14 round of the competition.
“Oh she’s so fun,” Grammer said after the performance. “She’s amazing.”

The young singer’s performance, according to the judges, was similar to that of a seasoned artist who had toured with Grammer.
“You are such a natural, Catie. Obviously, you’re a star because it feels so natural for you to be around other stars. You were doing incredible harmonies,” judge Katy Perry said.

“I’m sure you are several people, with several ages. You are doing things you’re not supposed to know yet,” judge Lionel Richie said. “I couldn’t tell you any points, except you killed it.”
“The way you harmonized with a big-time singer, and like you guys have been on tour all year together. It was amazing. Great job,” judge Luke Bryan said.
