In the span of just 12 hours, PECO was able to cut the number of Levittown-area outages in half Thursday.
The 8 p.m. outage tally from the utility company showed 9,600 customers in the Levittown area remained in the dark. The count was down from more than 18,000 customers without service as of 7:45 a.m.

A warming station was opened at the Bristol Township Senior Center until 8 a.m. Friday. As of 8 p.m. Thursday, the Red Cross warming center at the Middletown Municipal Complex remained open. The Falls Township Fire Marshal posted on Facebook that their warming center was closed, but residents should contact them if they needed a place to get warm.
Across Bucks County, about 18,400 customers were without PECO service as of 8 p.m.
The largest number of Levittown-area outages were in Bristol Township, Falls Township and Middletown. Langhorne Manor, which had 65 percent of PECO customers without service this morning, had only a handful of customers still off the grid, according to PECO.

A spokesperson for the utility company said 2,600 of its workers were dedicated to bringing back service. In addition, 2,000 contractors and crews from other utility companies were brought in to restore service.
PECO Spokesperson Greg Smore said Bucks County was hit hard by Wednesday’s storm. Downed trees and branches knocked out power for thousands of customers.
