Special agents from the FBI’s Evidence Response Team and local police spent much of Wednesday at a Bensalem apartment complex as part of an investigation with a Bristol Borough connection.

Bristol and Bensalem police were at the Cedar Park Apartments off Cedar Avenue along with the FBI and Bucks County Detectives as they appeared to search for evidence. Residents said special agents and officers were at the apartment complex since the morning and focused time on a field that abuts I-95.

Law enforcement sources said the investigation was connected to a Bristol Borough incident, but LevittownNow.com was unable to confirm the exact nature of the probe or the connection.

Bristol’s police chief confirmed his department was involved in the activity and directed a reporter to the FBI for additional comment.

Carrie Adamowski, the spokesperson for the FBI’s Philadelphia Field Office, said that special agents were “carrying out court-authorized law enforcement activity as part of an ongoing investigation.”

Wednesday’s police activity took place not far from where a homicide occurred Sunday evening, but an official said the two incidents were unrelated. Three people were arrested in connection with that investigation.
