Levittown’s Andy Reid Gets New Eagles Sign After Theft

Nearly two weeks after his prized 30-year-old E-A-G-L-E-S sign was stolen, the Levittown native and lifelong Eagles fan Andy Reid has received a replacement.

The sign that sat outside Reid’s home in Bristol Township’s Indian Creek neighborhood was replaced by Brett Brand and his team at Brands Imaging in Philadelphia.

When Brand saw the story come across his Facebook feed, he knew that he needed to do something. The company specialized in interior and exterior graphic design.

The original sign was made by Reid’s sister, who owned a sign making business. Years before the theft, Reid’s sister gifted the sign to their late mother. Since then, the sign made an appearance during every single Eagles game for three decades.

“I just thought that it was a crappy thing that somebody did,” Brand said.

Replacing the sign, given Brand company’s specialty, was a relatively simple task.

It was just the right thing to do, Brand affirmed.

“It was just overwhelming,” Reid said on Wednesday morning, two days after the sign was delivered.

Although he was thinking about replacing the sign, he did not think there would be any way to get it replaced before the Super Bowl or what such a project would cost.

The story behind Reid’s original E-A-G-L-E-S sign really stuck out to Brand, Brand said. The unique story paired with his intrinsic good will and the complete domination of Eagles fever in the region resulted in Brand’s firm stepping up to replace the sign. The replacement also follows Eagles fans getting a bad rep in the national media.

“That’s just not us, we try to do what’s right and we take care of our own,” Brand said.

Brand grew up in Langhorne but has since moved to South Philadelphia. He runs his business out of Fishtown in the city.

Reid’s family and friends were there when the sign was delivered and everyone was excited to see it.

Reid also received a huge amount of community support. He said couldn’t even go into a Wawa without hearing someone tell him they were doing their best to find his signs.

Reid had a good feeling about the Super Bowl before the sign was returned but now, he is even more sure.

“Mom’s looking down on us, and we are going to win this game,” Reid said.
