Driver Rescued From New Year’s Day Crash

Firefighters spent 20 minutes extricating a victim from a multi-vehicle wreck.

The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. on New Year’s Day at the intersection of New Falls Road and Bristol-Oxford Valley Road in Middletown’s Levittown section.

The person who was extricated was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, William Penn Fire Company Deputy Chief Jim Bampfield said.

The Newportville and Levittown No. 2 fire companies assisted William Penn crews at the scene.
