A new burger joint may be on its way to Bristol Borough.

Burger Garage is the concept put forth by developer Joe Weston Jr. and his partner and lifelong friend Kevin Brannigan at the most recent Bristol Borough Council meeting.

The project would give Old Route 13 and nearby Mill Street an anchor at the upper end of the street, Weston told the Council.

The current Klean Kars by Kevin garage will be retrofitted to suit a gourmet burger eatery, Brannigan explained. The building, belonging to Brannigan’s father, is just a short walk from Mill Street and the available parking there.

The eatery will be themed around cars, motorcycles and other automobiles. The food will be gourmet burgers ranging from beef to wild game animals like venison, boar and ostrich. In addition to being varied in the burgers, the duo plans to source everything as locally as possible, right down to the desserts, which will come from local bakeries, the developers said at the meeting.

โ€œWe want to do all natural and organically grown food,โ€ said Weston.ย โ€œWe think this is something fun and neat that would work in perfectly with Mill Street.”

Couincilman Greg Pezza, who owns the recently opened Itri Brick Oven Pizzeria, offered some wisdom from one new eatery owner to another, saying that many processes could take awhile.

The next step for the developing duo is to approach the zoning board and clear the plans with them. There are no hard plans yet, but Weston said that the two would love to open the new eatery by July 4.
